Easing Anxiety As Our Kids Head Back To School [Little Human Leadership]

As our kiddos head back to school, let’s be honest, there’s anxiety up and down and all around – within our children (‘Will I have friends?’ ‘Will the teachers like me?’ ‘What if I don’t do well?’….. ‘Am I safe at school?’) and within us (about our children feeling all those things!).

I bet $1,000 that your go-to reaction is to figure out how you can help your child through their feelings. BUT, I encourage you to ask yourself this first: ‘Am I managing my own anxiety surrounding school (and other things for that matter) well?’

Hm. Whoa. Maybe not… Well shoot! Does that mean I’m a terrible parent and can’t help my child?! Maybe I should homesc…..

My friend, there are solutions.

I was recently interviewed by podcaster Jennifer Johnson, owner of True Fashionistas, about this topic SPECIFICALLY, and I encourage you to listen if you or your children struggle with these back-to-school emotions.

In this 20-minute interview titled Back To School Without Anxiety, we chat about:

  • Dealing with anxiety before kids even get to school
  • Our children’s thoughts & emotions related to fitting in, being liked, and performance at school
  • Anxiety over things we (& they) have heard in the news
  • Anxiety over safety at school
  • What we can do as parents to ease their fears

In case you forgot – you are capable, and you’re doing a great job.

Lots of love,
💜 Your Coach,
Sara
